Jack Grealish United Kingdom Footballer Reviews

The hype around Jack Grealish is nothing new. Long before he spearheaded Aston Villa's return to the Premier League, Jack Grealish was touted to be one of England's most talented youth players. But, as we have seen in countless cases, talent doesn't always translate to success. It's safe to say that hasn't been the case with the former Ireland youth international. Jack Grealish has become better and better with time. The excellence he exhibited in the Championship didn't fade away in the Premier League.

Jack Grealish In Premier League 2021/22

This season, in particular, he has been nothing short of excellent. As of December 30, he has five goals and eight assists under his belt in only 14 Premier League appearances. He also found the back of the net in Aston Villa's EFL Cup encounter against Burton Albion. This season has finally seen Grealish donning the Three Lions kit on the senior level. After pledging his international future to England in 2015, five years to play a senior-level game for the country. He has made five appearances under Gareth Southgate this season. Grealish loves to take on defenders, which forces defenders to give away fouls in dangerous positions. In the 2019/20 season, he won 167 fouls in the Premier League, which was the highest in the English top-flight and the best numbers across the top 5 European leagues.

The numbers seem to be heading in a similar direction this season as well. As of December 22, he drew 56 fouls from the defenders, which is 20 more than any other player in the league. He also had 108 touches inside the opposition penalty box, which matched Mohamed Salah. Within the same period, Grealish also leads the line in creativity. He has produced 43 goalscoring opportunities, which is only second best to AC Milan's Hakan Calhanoglu. What makes this stat even more impressive is that 38 of these chances came from open play.

His performance has raised his stock in the transfer market. Transfermarkt.com assesses his current market value at €50 million. But in reality, it could be much more than that. The Telegraph reports that Villa set his asking price at £70m after the 19/20 season. However, no serious bid arrived for the 25-year old, as clubs deemed the price too expensive, allowing Villa to sign him up on a new five-year contract in 2020. Signing the new contract, Grealish is reportedly making £135,000-a week.

Manchester United Interest In Jack Grealish

Manchester United is looking for a replacement for Paul Pogba, and Jack Grealish fits the bill perfectly. But, his 20/21 performances have prompted his suitors to renew his interests. That said, Villa is reportedly not letting him leave for anything less than £100m. Manchester United is not the only big club interested in the forward. Grealish can play as an attacking midfielder and is comfortable on the wings. These attributes have made him very desirable to the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal. Grealish has had a very good start to this season, scoring more than half the goals he did last season. His great form has also reflected Villa's performance, who sit fifth on the table after 14 matches. Villa might snatch up a European spot if their talisman can maintain his form at the end of the season.
