Clean Sheet Trends In English Premier League Week 12
Hi and welcome to this yet another interesting episode from the Betting Trends video series by Betfame. I’m Emily De Cosimo, and I’m the spokesperson for this video series.
In today episode, our focal interest is to examine the clean sheet trends in English Premier League Week 12. As we all know, we look forward to the 13th English Premier League games of the season after the return from international duties.
Firstly, what does a clean sheet mean?
Simply, in lay man's words, a clean sheet is when a team does not allow their opponent to score in the match. It is an important aspect of football.
Basically, the responsibility rests on the goalkeepers and defenders to make this come to reality. In fact, the goalkeeper with the cleanest sheet is rewarded at the end of the season. In other words, when a team does not allow the opponent to find the back of the net until the final whistle, it has kept a clean sheet.
Clean Sheet Trend In English Premier League Week 12
From the results of the games in week 12, Watford produced a clean sheet against Norwich City, Chelsea did the same against Crystal Palace, West Ham United refused to score Burnley, Arsenal couldn't find the back of the net against in-form Leicester City. That means 40% of the week's result produced a clean sheet, and it is, therefore, a noticeable trend, worthy of recognition.
Subsequently, depending on the fixtures, form of players, teams, and defending the ability of some teams, this trend is expected to continue in the weeks ahead and in the course of the season. This would not come as any surprise because it only reflects how solid the defensive capability of the respective teams is, among other things.
