When former Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata was signed last summer for £58 million, he hands the makings of a world class player. Fans thought he would be a promising replacement for Diego Costa, but his time with Chelsea has been somewhat underwhelming. He was in great form for the first half of his season with them, but after that, things only went downhill for the Spanish striker. Having scored just once this Premier League season, he has been the brunt of severe backlash from fans. If Morata decides to return to Spain or Italy, some players could potentially replace him, giving The Blues the edge they need to stay on the top.

Mauro Icardi

The Argentinian forward could be the answer to Chelsea’s striker issues. As the current captain for Inter Milan, Icardi is arguably one of the best strikers Serie A has to offer right now. Despite having a somewhat slow start to the season this year, h has plenty to offer. Having been linked to a potential Chelsea signing early this year, Icardi is a likely candidate.

Michy Batshuayi

The Belgian striker is currently playing on loan from Chelsea, for the La Liga club, Valencia. Batshuayi could use his time in Valencia to hone his skills over the next few months and return to Chelsea this winter. Along with Giroud, clubbed with Sarri’s managerial style, Batshuayi would make a suitable replacement for Morata.

Lorenzo Insigne

Insigne’s unorthodox style of play could potentially be just what Chelsea needs right now. The fact that he’s already familiar with Sarri’s form due to their time at Napoli together could be a bonus. It was due to his efforts that Napoli was able to snatch a surprising last-minute win against Liverpool this Champions League. The Italian striker managed to score a 90th-minute goal against The Reds, who delivered an underwhelming performance throughout the match.

Ciro Immobile

Immobile is without a doubt an incredibly talented striker. He, along with Icardi, currently holds the title of Capocannoniere, after having scored 29 goals in just 33 appearances during the previous Serie A. His past few seasons at Lazio have been consistently excellent, and he could be an asset at Stamford Bridge.

Timo Werner

At just 22 years of age, Timo Werner has a lot to offer. The German striker has caught the eye of several fans, especially over the last few months. He has scored over 40 goals over his previous two seasons and is in excellent form. He played a pivotal role in Germany’s success during this year’s World Cup and had also earned the praise of several Leipzig fans. Last Bundesliga, he managed to score 21 goals in 32 appearances. He’s quick on his feet and high energy and would be an excellent fit for Chelsea.

Robert Lewandowski

Lewandowski has consistently been one of the best players that Bundesliga has had to offer over the last few seasons. With 29 goals in 30 appearances during his 2107 – 2018 season, and all the skills he has to offer, the Poland international would be a formidable force in the Premier League. He is a gifted forward, technically skilled, quick and disciplined, and any team would benefit from him as their striker.

Other notable names include:
  1. Aleksandar Mitrovic
  2. Edinson Cavani
  3. Mario Balotelli
  4. Paulo Dybala
