The La Liga standings are currently just past the halfway point of the season, with each team playing 20 games and 18 games remaining.

1. Barcelona – 54 points
2. Atletico Madrid – 43 point
3. Valencia – 40 points
4. Real Madrid – 35 points (1 game less)
5. Villarreal – 34 points
6. Sevilla – 32 points

Who Will Win La Liga?

Barcelona leads the race and has since September with 54 points from a possible 60 points. Barcelona has also scored the most goals in the league (57) and have the joint-best defense with Atletico (9 Goals Against). It is important to note that Barcelona is also undefeated this season and could possibly go on to have an invincible season.

Who Will Finish Top-4 In La Liga This season?

First: Barcelona will finish in first place. That has been established. Barcelona is currently 16 points ahead of Real Madrid. Although it seems improbable that Barcelona will end the season undefeated, they will win La Liga at least for sure. Selling Neymar hasn’t seemed to affect the team.

Second: Real Madrid will have to play really well towards the second half of the season to claim the second spot. Real Madrid is currently in the 4th position with the team severely underperforming this season. Madrid will rely on Ronaldo hitting his stride again.  

Third: Atletico Madrid has the joint-best defense in the League and will be tough for any team to take points from Atletico. Atletico will have to replicate their first half of the season to claim the second spot. Worst-case scenario, Atletico will finish third.

Fourth: Valencia should be able to tie down the fourth spot, with the next team in fifth 6 points behind them. Valencia is currently in the third position in La Liga, but we should see Real go past them in a few weeks. Sevilla and Villarreal will also fight for the fourth spot as a Champions League playoff spot.
