Current Standings

As of January, 20th, the League standings are:

  1. Manchester City – 62 points
  2. Manchester United – 50 points
  3. Liverpool – 47 points
  4. Chelsea – 47 points

Manchester City

The first place in the Premier League table belongs to Manchester City, and that too by a hefty margin of points, wins and goals scored. City has a 12 point margin ahead of the team in second and a 15 point margin ahead of the teams in third and fourth. Manchester City has almost won the league, but whatever happens, they will not finish outside the top-4.

Manchester United

United finished 6th last season. If not for City’s almost perfect form this season, Manchester United has actually done really well this League season. Mourinho’s men have the joint-best defense in the League (with Chelsea) by literally parking the bus. United will be expected to finish second or third this season.

Chelsea

Chelsea is the reigning Premier League holders, but have had an inconsistent season with away matches and scoring important goals. Chelsea is currently in fourth spot, level on points with Liverpool. Conte’s men will be looking to finish the season on a high in second place. Chelsea should finish second this season, apart from winning a domestic trophy.

Liverpool

Liverpool will be the last team to take a Champions League spot by finishing in the top four for the 2017-18 season. Salah is currently the top scorer in the Premier League and his goals have fired Liverpool to the third spot in the League. Liverpool has also scored the second most goals (after Man City) this season with 54 goals for. Selling Coutinho to Barcelona will ensure that they finish no more than the fourth position.

By May, our Premier League top-4 will be finalized.
